Documents Required

 This document checklist is standard but not exhaustive. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents based on specific use cases.

   Passport

  • Original passport issued within 10 years
  • Valid for 6 months beyond the last intended date of departure from Greece
  • Should contain at least 2 blank visa pages
  • Should have no alteration or handwritten amendments in the data pages

    Itinerary

  • Itinerary which gives information about applicant travel plans of country they are traveling to on plain A4 size paper or else if booked through travel agent then on their letterhead
  • Holding/Confirmed flight reservation from India to Greece and onward
  • Holding/Confirmed hotel reservation details of Greece

Greece is one of the 27 Schengen countries.


Schengen Area comprises of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland


If multiple countries in a Schengen area is to be visited then Greece must be the country with the maximum duration of stay or if all the stays at the Schengen countries are same, then it must be the first country at the port of entry in the Schengen area


Each applicant must have all the mandatory documents as mentioned in requirement tabs above

FAQ's

1. Can i submit the E-statement for my visa application?

    No, the bank statement must be for the last 6 months, stamped and signed on every single page by the bank. Please note that the statement must be on A4 size paper only.

2. It is necessary to submit the visa application in person?

    As from November 2, 2015, every applicant requesting a Schengen visa has to submit the biometrics (finger print, palm print, live photo, etc.) in person. It can either be to the assigned VFC (Visa Facilitation Center), or for some countries the assigned consulate or embassy.

3. Do i need to provide a confirmed flight itinerary and accommodation booking for my Schengen visa application?

4. For how long is the Biometrics valid?

    As per the standard rule set by the Schengen authorities, Biometrics is valid for 59 months and for all the Schengen countries. However, few countries will require the applicant to get the Biometrics every time they apply irrespective of the validity or if there is some error in Biometrics details captured in the VIS. 5. How long before should I apply for my Greece visa online?

    You can apply for a Greece Visa 6 months before you travel but not later than 15 days.

6. I only have the last two year’ ITR’ can i apply for Schengen visa?

    Although the ITR for the last three years is preferred, you can provide the ITR for the last 2 years, if otherwise.

7. Is travel insurance mandatory for Schengen visa?

    For all 26 Schengen countries, travel insurance is mandatory. You can apply for travel insurance online right away

8. Which all country are included in the Schengen visa?

    A Schengen Visa (issued by a consulate or embassy of a Schengen State) is valid for all 26 States of the Schengen Area comprising- Austria, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

9. If i have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport, can i travel to Greece with my both old and new passport?

    In case you hold an active visa for Greece on the old passport, it is mandated to email your concern directly to the Greece Embassy. In turn, you can use the old passport till the expiry of that particular visa if the embassy validates it with a reply to your mail.
