This document checklist is standard but not exhaustive. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents based on specific use cases.
Passport
- Original passport valid for 6 months
- Should contain at least 2 blank visa pages
Photograph
- Only required in case of child applicants
- Applicant full face must be clearly visible without any headgear
- Two recent colored passport size photographs (35 mm wide by 45 mm high without border) and taken within the last 3 months
ITR
- Income tax return assessment for the last 3 years in case the applicant is employed else need to provide income tax return of the person sponsoring your trip
- In case applicant is self employed then Company’s last 3 Years ITR is also required
Cover Letter
- A Covering letter from the Applicant on A4 Size Paper (if Employed) or else on Business Letter Head (if Self Employed)
Proof of sufficient funds for undertaking travel
- Applicant needs to provide last 6 months bank statement in case the applicant is employed else need to provide bank statement of the person sponsoring your trip
- All bank statements must be dated within the last 1 week
- In case applicant is self employed then Company’s last 6 months bank statement is also required
NOC
- In case applicant is employed need NOC from employer along with Id card/Business card copy
- NOC from School / Institute along with Xerox of ID card (in case of student / minor)
GST Copy
- If Self Employed then applicant need to provide a GST Copy
Invitation
- In case the applicant is invited from Canada then – Invitation letter mentioning purpose of inviting
- In case the host is sponsoring – The financial documents of the hos
Marriage Certificate
- In case couple is married, marriage certificate is required.
All Indian passport holders require a valid visa to enter Canada.
Each applicant must have all the mandatory documents as mentioned in requirement tabs above.
In addition to the documents mentioned, our visa experts or the concerned embassy may require you to furnish additional documents to process your visa.Your cooperation in furnishing any such additional documents is essential for a positive outcome.
If all the documents are not ready at the time of agent visit then additional charges are levied when agent revisits your residence.
Visa fee is nonrefundable whether visa is approved or rejected.

1. Can i travel to Canada if in have an invitation from the country?
Yes, you can travel to Canada on an invitation from friends, family or business associates. Please note that you can’t undertake a business trip if you haven’t been invited by a business organization.
2. Can i travel to Canada on an invitation from a related person?
Yes, friends, family, or business associates can send an invitation. Please be noted that business associates can send an invitation for a business visa for Canada only.
3. How much bank balance is required for a Canada visa?
You will be required to provide the last 6 months’ bank statements. Make sure you have a minimum balance of 2000 CAD (1,23,000 INR) approx.
4. Is Biometrics mandatory for a Canada visa from India?
Yes, biometrics (fingerprints, palm prints, live photos, etc.) must be submitted in person by every applicant seeking a Canada visa from India.
5. What if my Canada visa get rejected?
We highly recommend you reapply but with an updated application. Know the reasons for your visa rejection and follow the application guidelines for visa approval.
6. When applying for Canada visa, Do i need to submit my flight and hotel reservations?
No, it is not mandatory to provide hotel and flight booking details before applying for a Canada visa.
